Streib Company Soccer Classic Logo & Tee Design
The idea for this project is to create a world class logo for the Streib Co Soccer Classic in Shrewsbury for 2019. This logo should rival the various soccer classic logos out there.
A few sketches, ideally the design will be more on the wide side in terms of proportion to look better as a website banner. A vertical version would also be cool in order to mix and match collateral. Vertical banners, t-shirts could do well with a vertical version.
Some elements that I'm seeing with this type of sports logo.
- Multiple lettering layers
- 3D look
- usage of bold type with white and gray borders giving it a shine or silver 3D edging effect.
- incorporate a ball.
- Utilizing a look of royalty or award through typfaces.
- Stretched and skewed type to fit containers
- things bursting out of those containers
- Conveying motion and grandiosity using perspective and type stretching
- Emblem shapes like badges
- Usages of ribbons or shapes used as outlines or object wrapping
- integrating trophies, balls or the theme for time of year
- displaying the year
- integrated org or company names
- small caps
- manipulation of proportion.
Fun note, one of the Steamers players that I attended a soccer camp when I was very young has a soccer classic in Cottleville, MO. Tony Glavin. The logo there has some british elements as well as some of the (loosely) art nouveau floral stuff.
Some other designs, these are more wide format, but the look leaves something to be desired.
