Pi-Hole Ad-Blocker Setup at Home
Some notes on the Pi-Hole setup at home. Got introduced to Diet-Pi OS distribution to run the pi-hole with lower resources. I'm using the original size Raspberry Pi 1 with 512MB of RAM, and a full size SD card, 16gb. Shouldn't be a problem considering people are running it on the smaller $5 Pi.

Things to note. DNS config, Static IP needs to be assigned via router. Need to change all the passwords.
The goal is going to be to block ads on devices in the house without having to manually configure them. Look into the downsides if any using DNS from OpenDNS or Cloudflare or Google or whatever. Is it going to make the internet slower? Faster? Will my ISP be affected?
Success ehh Sort of
I set up the Pi with Diet-Pi, Signed up and set up OpenDNS on my router, and PiHole. I then added some block lists (the ones in green) from this site: https://firebog.net/
