Some notes on home grown security system, surveillance, notifications, hardware etc.
I really don't want to be tied down to services. I don't want the cloud (unless personal private encrypted cloud). A setup that I can take with me to other places would be nice. Cameras that don't require wiring is cool but can be spied on via the network. But that can happen with wired cameras too if the network isn't secure.
